트럼프 덕분에 알게된 인물이라고 해야 하나?
오바마 정부에서 FBI 국장으로 임명되어 트럼프가 취임하고 바로 해임되었다.
국장의 임기를 10년으로 정해뒀지만 보장해주진 않는 모양이다.
부시 정부에서 법무부차관으로 일하면서 고문에 대한 부시정부의 정책에 반대해서 찍히고, 오바마 정부가 끝날 무렵 힐러리의 이메일 사건을 처리하면서 민주당 지지자들에게 공격받기도 했다. 하지만 본인에 의하면 당파를 초월하고 대통령과도 독립된 오직 진실과 미국인의 보호를 위해서만 일한다는 원칙에 의거하여 모든 일을 처리하였다고 한다. 결국 트럼프가 요구한 higher loyalty를 거부해 미디어를 통해 자신의 해고통지를 봐야하는 수모를 겪는다.
203cm의 큰키인데도 학창시절(에는 이만큼은 아니었겠지만) 괴롭힘을 당했다고 해서 어리둥절....ㅋ
