니나가 일하는 작은 도서관이 통합으로 문을 닫게 되면서, 일도 잃게 된 상황.
전환교육 강사가 해준 이야기에서 우연히 아이디어를 얻어 스콧랜드에 밴트럭서점을 운영하게 되는데, 사고로 알게된 기차운전수 머렉과 썸을 타지만 고향 라트비아에 두고온 가족의 존재를 알고 정리하고, 전혀 상상도 못했던 집주인 레녹스 잘 된다.
책 제목에 서점이 들어가는 책은 무조건 믿고 보는 습관이 생겼다.
이 책도 만족스럽게 보았다. 언급되는 책의 상당부분이 낯설다는 거 말고느.ㅎㅎ
그래도 제임스 해리엇의 책이 언급되었을 때는 기뻤다. 나름.
한편으로는 내가 구직을 하고, 포기를 하는 지금의 상황에서 니나의 모든것을 포기하고 떠나야 하는 용기와 결단이 적절한 타이밍에 내게 던져준 메세지 같기도 했다.
이야기 속의 니나처럼 나도 인연이나 만났으면......응? ㅋ

She held his gaze in a single timeless, endless moment, an instant trembling in the heat, as though the world had pressed pause, as though she were a shy ballerina waiting to take the stage.
He kissed her skillfully but hard, insistently, as if there was some biding fury in him that he had to work very, very hard to control.
It was by a vast margin the best kiss Nina had ever had. She kissed him back, furiously, realizing that up to this point in her life, kisses had always been a prelude, a tease or an exploration, a precursor to what might or might not happen next.
